Practice Policies

Rule number one for practice BE ON TIME

2 practices a week are required, 3 practices a week are suggested, 4 practices a week are encouraged as needed

If there is a cancellation of practice I will update the teams website, and Facebook Page.

Inclement Weather

Heat lightening equals lightening. It will be treated with the same precaution as lightening which produces audible thunder. Lifeguards/ coaches will make the call when this needs to happen. Swimmers must be out of the water and in a safe refuge (a building or a vehicle) for a minimum of 30 minutes after the last audible sound of thunder. Lifeguards will determine when the time is up.

Practice Guidelines

We will make every attempt to have practice. If it’s just a rain shower, you can expect to swim. Covered space is available inside YMCA for safe refuge should weather turn worse during a workout.

Unless there is a major thunderstorm event, the decision to cancel will be determined close to the start of practice. Conditions can change quickly in strength and severity, so if there is a window of opportunity to work out, coaches will seize it. The decision to go/no-go is made solely by our coaches and lifeguards, who will evaluate conditions at the pool. Parents will be notified by email and text. Please be sure you’re receiving team emails and texts and notify the head coach if you aren’t.
